A project I have been working on for the last couple of months just went live an hour ago, it’s one of the reasons my posting here as been so erratic. I have been working on creating a service to provide continual professional development and it even comes with access to research journals. Over the next couple of months we will be rolling out quite a few small courses for people to take in the archaeology and heritage fields (full list at the bottom of this page).
It will take us a few months to get them all rolled out and in you will even be able to access archaeology journals to conduct research for the courses. We have several journal collections (90 some archaeology journals and 700+ journals in other subjects, see full list here search the journal directory for access ) and will be adding more journals in the coming weeks. Ideally, in a few months we will would like to have every archaeology journal possible (that offer online access and are in English).
It took a lot of hard work and sacrifice, I have not got paid for this and am currently not drawing a salary (no one is at the moment) but we have managed to keep prices really low. Currently, £2.50 ($3.99) a month for all you can read e-learning modules and access to journals. That is after a 70% discount for IfA members, our first customers. So if you pay full price it is £8.30 a month. However, we don’t turn anyone away who can’t pay. Also, if you happen to be a member of an organization that might be interested in a discount let me know and we can see what can be done. You can see all the details at the website www.landward.org .
Now, is usually where the plea for help comes tweet, blog, buy etc. etc. and I am no different, so please tweet, blog, buy etc. etc. If you have the chance to help us it would be greatly appreciated. At £2.50 a month you would be getting access to all this:

Doug,
Nice work! That price for JSTOR access is fantastic. I’m looking forward to seeing the first batch of classes.

The full price gets access to all the modules?
This is great either way! Looking forward to it in April.

Yes, basically it’s all you can read/use. Individual instruction costs extra but for the most part that is not needed.

This is absolutely fantastic!! The amount of work here is admirable! Thank you, very very much from a recent graduate who’s been trying to find ways to stay up to date without JSTOR access
