A few years back I wrote about the best class I ever took in undergrad and the book that came out of it- The Anthropology Graduate’s Guide: from Student to a Career. My teacher from that course is now running a careers bootcamp that I think many people would be interested in-
Applications are now being accepted for the 2015 Anthropology Career Boot Camp and Internship Program. The Program is offered by the University of Maryland-College Park Department of Anthropology as an intensive 2-week in-class 3-credit hour course with an optional 6-week, 6-credit internship.
The Anthropology Career Boot Camp is designed to provide anthropology students with some of the knowledge and skills that employers desire and that traditional educational programs do not provide. Course content will be presented through lectures, hands-on activities, panel discussions, and presentations by applied anthropologists across the discipline. Students will work individual and in groups to produce products relating to job procurement and starting a career. The topics presented in this program were identified by employers as ones that they wished students possessed as they enter the job market.
