Field/Lab Technician Pay:

Field Technician (Techs) is the entry level position for most archaeologists who go into commercial work. Pay differs from region to region and state to state. The following map shows advertised pay rates for field techs for 2010. The data is from job postings on Shovelbums list serve. This first map is for all states east of the Mississippi river and second is all those west of the Mississippi river:
