artifacts are some of the best things to use to smuggle/exchange money. unlike large amounts of cash they don’t tend to raise as many questions and are less obvious than drugs. when your economy is collapsing it might be the only way to feed your family. war is a sad affair all round (not trying to minimize the loss of human life which is more horrific but war touches everything
